Email Software Settings

Windows Live Mail (IMAP)

  • Open Windows Mail by clicking the Start button, clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Mail.
  • Click the File drop-down menu, go down to Options, and then click Email Accounts.
  • Click the Add button.
  • Click E-mail Account, and click the Next button.
  • Enter your information as required. Be sure to select Manually configure server settings. Then click the Next button.
  • Select your server type (IMAP) and fill in your information below. The Incoming server port should be 143 and the Outgoing server port should be 587. Make sure that Requires authentication is selected.
  • Your email account has now been added. Click the Finish button to continue.
  • Select the email you’ve just created and click the Properties button on the right side of the window.
  • Go to the Servers tab and below Outgoing Mail Show, click on the Settings button.
  • Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  • Click the OK button. You have now successfully created your email account.
