PowerPoint 2000: Web Presentations Windows 95/98 Overview This document covers the steps for publishing an existing PowerPoint 2000 presentation to the web.  You will learn how to save the presentation as a web file, and then how to transfer the file to the campus web server. To put your completed presentation on the web server, you will need to have an email account on the campus server (isis), as well as to have signed up for the campus web publication service.  (For more information, see the section called “Subscribing to the Campus Web Publication Service” below.)  Finally, you will need an Internet file transfer program; this document discusses using WS_FTP, a program available for free from the UNC shareware page at http://shareware.unc.edu. If you need to learn the basics of using PowerPoint, please refer to the ATN documents Windows 95/98 PowerPoint 97/1000: Introduction (dwt09) and Windows 95/98 PowerPoint 97/2000: Formatting & Design (dwt10). Can It Be This Easy? (Yes!) Saving your Presentation as a Web Page When you are ready to publish your presentation to the web you must save it as an HTML document.  To do this, open the file in PowerPoint and select Save as Web Page from the File menu.
